Daydream Acrylic Album

A friend of mine just had a beautiful baby and I happily took some pictures of her the other day!   Her baby shower was tonight, and although I just got the photos back yesterday, I decided to whip her up a mini album.  I went to Vicky's blog to check out her album (she is soooo mega talented) and her blog also led me to Jen's and so I used these albums as my inspiration!!!  I didn't actually finish the album - there are two more pages to add:)

Blog Award Fun!!!

I received this "friends" award the other day from Sarah's Paper Tray...WOW is all I can say!!!  My first award!!  I didn't even know what to do with it...lol!!  The friend award comes with the following description to be added and passed along.  "These blogs are exceedingly charming.  These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends.  They are not interested in self-aggrandizement.  Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated"  It also says:  "Please give more attention to these writers.  Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

And then....I received another award from Laurel
The rules of the award (to pick up the Lemonade Stand Award):
Comment on this blog.
Cut and paste the award logo and use it in your own blog.
Nominate 5 to 10 blogs you feel show great attitude and gratitude.
Link to your nominees within your blog post.- Comment on their blogs to let them know they've received the award.
Link back to the person who gave you the award to show your appreciation.

I love everyone who leaves a comment so really you ALL deserve an award!!  Here are several that consistently stop by and leave such kind words...it is greatly appreciated and you all rock so much that you get TWO awards!!!

Cards for Color Chef Challenge

The first two cards were done for the Color Chef Challenge over at KJ's Stamp Pad. The color challenge is to use buttercup, sweet leaf, lilac mist and spring iris, if using CTMH colors:)

The other card is one I made awhile ago but gave it out today so I thought I had better take a picture of it in case I want to make another one sometime.  Ha...like that will happen!!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Puddle Jumping - Embossing Challenge at Creative Scrappers

From May 15 - 31st I am leading the designer challenge over at Creative Scrappers.  My challenge is simply to use embossing on your page.  I love to emboss both dry embossing and with powders...so on this layout I did both! For the title I used clear embossing powder to give it a more "wet" water look.  On the pink paper I used my stylus and made lines using my paper cutter (with blade removed) as a guide.  Then I gently sanded the paper to reveal the white core.   On the light blue paper, I clear embossed with my spot on backgrounds stamp and finally, on the darker blue paper, I used my cuttlebug (swiss dots folder) to emboss and then sanded again.  I love using my cuttlebug with Close to my Heart papers since it is so fun to reveal that white core.  A match made in heaven!!  All products used are from Close to my Heart!

My Princess

Another layout I did for Lisa's Scrap Shack  of my daughter who literally lives in this princess dress.

Most supplies are from Lisa's Scrap Shack:
Patterned Paper: KI Memories
Flower Gems: Hero Arts
"my": Chatterbox stickers
'Princess": AC Chipboard
Diamond bling: CTMH
Lace Border: Queen & Co.

Thursday, May 7, 2009

This layout was done for Lisa's Scrap Shack Design Team Challenge.  I am so excited to be a part of her Design Team!  For our first challenge, we were asked to do a layout about ourselves.  That was definitely a challenge for me!!!  The journaling reads, "All of these things are a huge part of who I am and each "ray" helps to fill my life with sunshine!  I feel so blessed and so grateful!  I am truly happy!"

Most supplies are from Lisa's Scrap Shack.  Patterned paper, rub-ons, and jeweled brads are from Pink Paislee, "I am" title is AC thickers chipboard (darling), butterfly is a cuttlebug diecut embossed with stickles for the body, and the heart is Making Memories chipboard painted and embossed.

Big Sister: Sketch #50 from Creative Scrappers/ Supplies from LISA'S SCRAP SHACK

This is my take on Creative Scrapper's sketch #50!! Most of the yummy supplies for this page are from Lisa's Scrap Shack. Journaling is all about how Madison is such a great big sister to Sienna. After I finished, I kept thinking about cute stories about Madison protecting Sienna so I think I will add a pull out tag with some more journaling...like this one time I came to pick them up from daycare and asked Madison how her day was and she answered with, well it was ok, but I couldn't really play today because Sienna needed me to cuddle her. Apparently, Sienna was not feeling too well and so Madison spent almost the entire day with her in her arms! How sweet is that??

Supplies:
Patterned paper: Bo Bunny
Chipboard flowers: Making Memories
Clear Scallop: Clear Scraps
Chipboard swirls: CTMH
Gems in flowers: CTMH
"Big" : Basic Grey Chip Stickers
"Sister": Chatterbox
Black dotted line: Stamp from CTMH
