We love we Grow....First day of School

First up...a fabulous kit from Ninabrook Designs. I LOVE the original kit and you can buy it HERE and get all the fabulous instructions to make that layout. Here is what I did with the kit: the layout is of my sweet daughter in a new outfit her Auntie gave her...so cute. I love that little stinker...even though she is in a terrible phase right now of not sleeping, eating, listening.......

And...today was a BIG day for us. Madison started GRADE ONE today. So she is now gone EVERY day. This will be quite an adjustment...for ME, of course, she will adjust just fine. She loves school! I just find myself grasping at time - where DOES it go???

I, like so many of you, am addicted to punches so I went to town and punched a whole bunch of scallops using my Fiskars Threading water punch. Then you simply adhere one on top of the next and keep going until you have as many as you like! For the top, I thought that the holes were perfect for threading some embroidery thread through!

I used a mix of Homespun Chic and Artsy Urban collections on this one!

Birthday Cards

I love to stock up on birthday cards and what better line to use than Teresa Collin's CELEBRATE?!! It is perfect for card making and lately I have been embracing my inner "card maker". And honestly, using this fabulous line, these cards pretty much scrapped themselves...LOL. Everything just flows when you use great stuff!

Grateful for Family

I love my family. And I love the GIVING THANKS line from Teresa Collins. I am so incredibly grateful for so many things in my life that I KNOW I will be using a LOT of this paper!

I am tired today...stayed up late watching the meteorite shower. Anyone else watch it? It is so magical!!!

Happy Together

The inspiration this month for the GCD Studios Facebook Team was polka dots. I know, so fun right? The inspiration photos are so colourful and fun that I decided to scrap this photo of my best friend and her daughter...aren't they the cutest?

Whenever my BFF comes to visit, we scrapbook and I LOVE her style so I tried to channel her creative energy when doing this page!! I used various papers and cut out a bunch of circles but then somewhere in the process I decided to cut them in half and make a fun scalloped border! All supplies are from GCD Studios except the title.

When doing this layout, I also played along with a scraplift challenge that goes on monthly over at ART FRECKLES. The first person scraps a layout from the gallery and then their layout is sent to the next person and so on. It is so fun, you should play along too!!

Sweet and Sassy...

...that is exactly what my six year old is these days...sweet and oh so sassy. Where exactly do they learn to talk back anyways??? Lucky for me, she is MOSTLY sweet:-) Love her and so sad that she will be going to school EVERY DAY in the fall!!!!

The GORGEOUS papers used on this layout are the Freestyle line from Teresa Collins. Pink and orange are so fabulous together!! YUM!!

My city.....

I just loved our inspiration photo this month for GCD Studios. All month, the design team are focusing on where we live. Well I recently moved to a FABULOUS community where the people are so friendly. It is a smaller community but it is growing quickly! In fact, we were just recently moved up from town status to city!! If you look at the picture of the sign in my layout they covered up "the town of" above Martensville!

The Homespun Chic Chipbard Lady was perfect for my layout since I love how my city has an old fashioned appeal to it and she creates that feel to my layout. The other embellishments and paper are from the Artsy Urban Collection.

Christmas in .... August???

I had every good intention of posting these in July so I could use the catchy "Christmas in July" theme....but where did July go?? I just got back from a ten day camping holiday with my family and it was WONDERFUL and now that I am back home it is suddenly August! Our holiday was so relaxing...we spent lots of time lazing at the beach, I read two books, we played boardgames, sat by the fire, went fishing - it was just so nice to have time together as a family!

BUT...I am happy to be back at home and back in my scrapping room!!! Both of these layouts use the amazing NOEL line from Teresa Collins. Did you see her booth at CHA....check out the video HERE. I am excited that a few of my layouts were used at her booth...sigh....someday I will get there too...lol!!! And did you hear that Teresa's TC STAMPMAKER won First Runner Up in the CHA Innovative Award presentation!!! It is seriously an AMAZING invention!!!
